The new KURONO 青磁:SEIJI is a limited 500-piece release in a celadon-like blue-green lacquer dial finish in KURONO’s iconic 37mm case. SEIJI is finished in a celadon-like bluish green finish - a color that wasn't just chosen from color swatches, but literally mixed by hand by master watchmaker Hajime Asaoka himself in his atelier in late 2020. Specifically paired with a white calf leather strap, SEIJI takes a fresher, more youthful and slightly edgier outlook than any of our previous offerings.

KURONO is proud to present its Anniversary Green ‘森:MORI’ time-only watch in commemoration of our first anniversary in June 2020.
The dial is a specially picked color by Hajime-san in scintillating metallic green with a subtle radial sunburst pattern. Depending on how the light hits at different times of the day or from different angles, the dial displays shades of viridian and emerald, to pine and forest green.

KURONOintroduces its first ever chronograph, designed by Japanese watchmaking extraordinaire Hajime Asaoka. A 38mm column-wheel chronograph, the Chronograph 1 features a monochromatic art-deco design language that is distinctively Hajime Asaoka.

As the first Hajime design to be introduced in the new reign of Emperor Naruhito, the new KURONO Classic is nicknamed 'REIWA'. Its complex two-part dial provides a glint of metallic sophistication at the periphery - off-set by the serenity of a perfect solid-colored center. The watch is paired with a genuine crocodile strap, and is aimed at more discerning collectors.

The first series under the KURONO, these three variants launched Hajime Asaoka's vision of giving watch collectors outside Japan a more accessible timepiece that shares the design DNA of Hajime's exclusive handmade atelier watches, but at a more affordable price.
A special dial variant in Eggshell White – limited to 50 pieces – is wholly reserved for Sincere Fine Watches customers in the region.

"Personally, I wanted a good, reliable and reasonably priced watch I can use as a daily wearer. 25 years ago, one could get such a watch at ¥200,000 - but it is very hard these days, and even less so from an independent watchmaker. As an independent watchmaker that produces very high-end watches by hand, my production numbers are very small. Additionally, the cost involved in making my atelier watches are high. Thus, it has always been my worry that there will be a segment of customers that want a Hajime Asaoka watch, but will not be able to get one easily if at all. I wanted to create something that was more easily accessible, and faster to deliver."
About the Designer
浅岡 肇（あさおか はじめ）
2021年現在、世界で31人しかいないスイス独立時計師アカデミー（AHCI）正会員の一人。日本で初めて、歴史ある複雑機構「トゥールビヨン」を自社製ムーブメントに搭載した腕時計を発表。浅岡肇が独立時計師として、デザインから、ほぼ全ての部品製造、組み立て、仕上げまで手掛ける「Hajime Asaoka TOKYO JAPAN」の時計は、年間製造本数は10本前後、顧客には王室や世界的なコレクターが名を連ねています。
